In Typhoon and Tempest, page 17, "Three young Canucks on 175 Squadron. Burton Murchie, Duval Westcott, and Norman C Howe. They had started on Hurricanes, then converted to Typhoons in April 1943...Westcott was a Winnipegger who went to No. 9 EFTS and No. 9 SFTS. He finished at Sutton Bridge just as Howe was arriving, then served on No. 245 Hurricane night fighters and 234 Squadron (Spitfires) before serving two years on 175. Twice his Typhoon was badly hit, once over Flushing where his elevator was damaged. He barely kept control and reached the emergency 'drome at Manston. He did a tour at Bagotville, then left the airforce for a career in the electrical and plumbing supply business.
