In an RCAF Press Release dated May 7, 1945: Flying Officer John Bullock, 124 Kennilworth Street, Ottawa reported, 'I don't know how they did it but two men climbed out of that Storch in a hell of a hurry or were blown out. They ran across a field into some woods.' This was in connection to the time when Russian forces entered the TAF area at Wismar, 15 miles from that day's transportation targets near Bravesmuhler, east of Lubeck port. Two enemy observation aircraft were destroyed, along with three railway coaches, two motor vehicles and other coaches and trucks destroyed."
